Bob Empson

Bob Empson is White Maple's founder and Principal Consultant.
He has advised over 170 UK and international organisations across the commercial, public and not-for-profit sectors. His client experience spans global corporations through to partnerships and entrepreneurial start-ups, government departments and their executive agencies, and a wide variety of not-for-profit member organisations and charities. He has worked on every continent (except Antarctica!).
Bob's career started with British Petroleum in the UK and Africa. He became a management consultant in 1985 when he joined a specialist strategy and marketing consultancy. He subsequently established the strategy/marketing consulting group of a UK professional services firm before joining another major firm to lead its management consulting practice for 10 years. He founded White Maple Consulting in 2002.
He is a former President of the UK's Institute of Management Consultancy, and is a Fellow of its successor the Institute of Consulting (FIC). Bob was educated at the universities of Bristol and Warwick (MBA). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and is a Chartered Marketer. He is also a Full Member of the Market Research Society (MMRS). Bob is a tutor on the MBA programme at Warwick Business School.
Between 2006 and 2011 Bob was a non-executive director of Ascertiva Group Ltd (the c.£40 million global commercial group whose key brands include NICEIC, the UK certification body for electrical contractors, and NQA, a global management certification provider). He was co-founder in 2006 of Cities in Sound (an online venture producing and publishing tourist audio tours in European cities); the business was sold in 2008. He also has an interest in a specialist training business: Training Professional Guides.
